Last Saturday, while his big brother celebrated a birthday at the near-by Aquarium de Paris, I took my 3 year-old on a tour of Paris by Batobus. Batobus is a hop-on, hop-off barge that cruises along the Seine River in Paris. We hopped on at the Eiffel Tower and decided to go for the big tour to the Jardin des Plantes and back. We did not get off – as we had to go pick up big brother where we hopped on – but we thoroughly admired the views. It took us a little under 2 hours, which was a perfect timing for us.
We majorly lucked out with the weather as it was sunny and the sun started to set around the end of our ride. We got to see many of our favorite Paris landmarks including the Pont Alexandre III, Le Grand Palais, the Louvre, Le Musée d’Orsay, Notre Dame, L’Île Saint-Louis.
Pro tip: if you keep the same seat on the way over and back, you will get different views. So focus on only one side at a time and you will be able to admire all the landmarks if you chose to experience it as a full ride like we did.
My little boy was especially excited to see the Police and Fire Boats navigating along the river for safety.
Here are a few pictures, if you’d like to see.

I fell in love with Paris all over again and we had a very pleasant Saturday afternoon.
Have you ever taken a barge on the Seine?
